What?
Designed and assembled a splatter shield to protect the rack of a weld cell from the splatter created by the welding process.
How?
Used SolidWorks and its sheet metal feature to design the system. Implemented DFA principles to reduce cost and time for assembly. Composed engineering drawings for the components designed to accommodate the machine shop for the purpose of manufacturing an accurate part.




Results?
Increased operator's productivity by taking away the task of cleaning the rack of the welding cell. Increased the life expectancy of the rack in the weld cell.
