What?
Designed a tube dispenser that would be integrated with a Horn Tube Bender and a Omron TM 14 cobot for the purpose of automating a tube bending process. The tube dispenser's goal was to displace a 62-inch steel tube in a constant position that would accommodate the Omron's point of reference.
How?
Used SolidWorks to design tube dispenser. Created parameters to define the goal of the mechanical design. Used aluminum extrusions (80/20) and sheet metal to compose the prototype.
Results?
The design successfully displaced tubes at a constant spot. Brought one step closer to automating the tube bending process. Accomplished to bring a conceptual design to the industry.
